  1. I'd love to know how prayer works in your family, especially if you have experiences of praying with kids older than mine.

  2. I won't say aspirational (!) but certainly inspiring and thought-provoking. I wanted to say Hi and let you know this is Jill from Bears this morning.

  3. Hi Jill! Lovely to put a face to a name. I'm going to check out your blog right now! (The alternative is tackling the dusting...it can wait ;>) )

  4. Hi, this is Bridget - we had five children but that's where the likeness to the Von Trapp/Susannah Wesley role model ended. Never really managed family prayers but did occasionally do something holy for Lent/Easter/Advent - 'To Dance with God' was my book for family celebration inspiration. Moving a homemade Mary and Joseph with a ELC donkey around the house throughout December until they ended up in the crib on Christmas Eve and choc coins in shoes on St Nicholas Day (Dec 6th)became firm traditions.
Now that the children are grown and flown and some have children of their own, and he and me are alone, we are trying again to have a daily prayer moment. We are using the Northumbria Community prayers as a basis, and not getting hung up if we don't manage to do it every day.
I really like the bit about being civil in front of the Almighty!
    God bless!

  5. Thanks for the comment, Bridget! Great to get some perspective from the other end of the lense as it were. I'm intrigued by those Northumbria Community prayers and "To Dance with God". My main inspiration for family spiriatual participation has been Michelle Guiness' book "The Heavenly Party" which I love.
